Hi there - my name is Monique Montgomery. I am an essayist and an award-winning songwriter. 

​I have been teaching academic and creative writing at the college and university level since 2010. 

I have a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of King's College, and an Honours Bachelor Degree with distinction in English and Political Science from Western University. 

​I have published ​several essays in The Globe and Mail and in Humanist Perspectives Magazine, and I write songs with my song writing partner and husband, Henry Taylor. We perform as the Henry and Monique Folk Explosion.
